Theme Hospital was legendary.  There is an open source project around, don't think it's at version 1. 0 yet but you can play one level.  I hope they do what OpenTTD did to Transport Tycoon Deluxe.

That would be grand indeed, I would gladly welcome an open source Theme Hospital, I remember having a good time with that.

Yes, I tried Hospital Tycoon a while back (a 3d successor)... not real good.

Nope, it was plagued by the lack of enough zoom out and for me the whole soap premise of the game was lost on me.  I don't find it much fun to find out the romances of the hospitals interns in a managment game.  Hell, even in the Sims franchise I never follow any story lines that might be present somewhere, it just doesn't interest me.  However theme hospital would be grand in 3D if they dont' lose sight of the basic gameplay.

Not likely however that I would purchase a 3D conversion of theme hospital as the gameplay at the time was fun, other games have taken gameplay much further so it while it would be nice to revisit it, it would be like stepping back in time to a simpler gameplay which I don't like to pay for, unless they substantially update the gameplay of it, while keeping the basic core game.

I think I gave Hospital Tycoon about 3 hours before I uninstalled it and have never thought to reinstall it since doing so.

How about "Alpha Centauri", another Sid Meier game.

I remember the name but passed on the game, at that point in my life Sid's games didn't do anything for me.  I picked up Sid's games at Civ II, CPT, TOT, III, IV now V.
