Thanks crowebird.  I admit, I spent a lot of time fussing with the mountains, but I enjoyed doing them the most since many worlds that I've seen have mountains that are little more than a hill of green which I just can't play on.

I only wish that EIG would continue to work with this world as I'd really like to be able to place the rest of expansion pack 2's new career buildings.  Out of all the great work that others have done creating worlds I honestly haven't found one that is up to par with the worlds that ship with the game and their expansions (mine included), as the ones that ship with the Ambitions expansion was really nice, lots of ground that is uneven like the real world.

Anyway, a bit of a bummer not being able to finish up this world the way that I wanted to, and an even bigger bummer that the Sims 3 Exchange still times out too soon and won't accept my world.  Even though I've got 2.2Mbs download I'm limited to like 118KB upload and that's not near fast enough to upload a 75MB world to the exchange apparently as it gives me the network error message.  I wish that EA would get their act together.

I'm seriously on the point of calling the franchise done and not bothering with any future expansions due to the lower quality of the software that they've been distributing in TS3 game and expansions.

I guess you were/are lucky that EIG works for you.  All I know is that I have fought with it from day one.  As for the "official" site, I stay as far away from it as possible, most of the people there scare me with how they act.  I much prefer MATY where n00bs fear to tread! :)

Well I sure am impressed.  I think I remember seeing your world a while back when I still cruised the sims forums, but didn't realize that was you at the time.

Have no idea about the new ambitions world, but your world looks more like my type of world than the two defaults for the sims 3 base alone.  I liked the one with the massive hill, but it was not enough hill for me (just one big one on the edge of the screen didnt exactly cut it), I really like building a world in a hilly landscape, and the extras you built into the world make it look awesome.  Enough so that I would consider buying the expansions just to play your world the way you have it set up.  But I have not really been in a support EA mode, and the sims expansions still dont seem worth the money.

(hmm, if only ea would release the sims on steam with a good bundle deal... :P [I seem to be a sucker for those, and I never realized how good monkey island was... I now own all of the ones steam has to offer]

I know exactly what you are saying.  I used to say that the people there are so artificially sweet to each other that it makes my teeth hurt.  I believe in constructive criticism when it's due, but many over there follow the golden rule that our mothers taught us about if you can't say anything nice ... and take it way too far and they bolster and encourage people that are obvious have no creativeness in their body to continue to create dreadful worlds by telling them how grand they are and how much they want to play on it.  Meanwhile the world in question may be nothing more than a flat plane of the default green color that all worlds start out as with not even a single feature on it.

There's very few people over there it would seem that are willing to speak the truth if the truth has any criticism in it at all and I wonder how are the authors going to learn to get better instead of continuing to put out poorly designed worlds.

Anyway, I visit the Create a world forum over there mostly as there are obviously some very talented people that work on their worlds and they sometimes give me new ideas to try out in my own worlds, which I still don't consider very good.  On a scale of 1 to 10 with my own worlds I give most of them a 3 or 4 as there is still far too much flat space going on most of the time.

With that in mind I'm attempting to do a new world that I've named Hilltop Retreats that is all about having the homes all nestled in small communities up in the mountains, hopefully in an attempt to get away from too much flat space.  If EIG chokes on this new world then I'm pretty much done with the franchise.
