My wife has played FB's "Farmville" for probably over a year and getting a bit tired of it.  Anyone know of a city builder with a low level of complexity (like Farmville) that I could interest her in? Most city builders would be more complex than she would want.  And her PC, which I built, is actually a business rig, not a gaming rig so the video card is not very powerful at all.

Well, there are a number of ways to look at this question!  First, some builders CAN be played in a more sandbox mode, like CivCity Rome or SimCity Societies...but if graphics are an issues (i.e., you want to keep the graphics simple) try Virtual City!

Have you looked at something like Rollercoaster tycoon?

I'm female, over 30 (just) and love it.  You can play sandbox mode and create your own theme park from scratch, as big or as small as you want it to be, or you can play the scenarios.

I would highly recommend buying the Rollercoaster Tycoon 3 Platinum which has not just normal theme park rides, but rides from the 'Wild' (animals/zoo) and 'Soaked' expansion packs.

What I liked about it the most is that there are so many personalised items to have in your park:

- Different rides and rollercoasters to unlock: gentle rides/rollercoasters/children's rides/thrill rides - you have to have a nice balance of all to keep people in your park happy and make money. 
- Souvenir shops selling umbrellas for when it rains, or swimsuits and sunscreen, or hot dogs, or balloons, or space hats etc etc etc.
- Statues, trees, flowers and shrubs to make your park 'pretty'
- Different styles of lamp posts, bins, buildings, paths, tunnels and seating depending on the 'theme' of your park, e. g Spooky, Space, Tropical etc
- You set the entry fee to the park, how much each ride costs, how much food and drink costs and any extras you get (e. g A plain hot dog with sauce might be $1, but you can set a Hotdog with sauce and cheese to $2. 50 if you like)

You can even go into 'coaster' camera and go for rides.  Riding on some of the rollercoasters actually made my stomach turn - it's almost like you're actually on the ride!

Playtime is pretty much limitless because even if you go back and play a scenario you've done before, your park can always look different!
