Thanks for the photos.  If mine looked that good I'd probably fly much more often.  Very very nice looking.

Thanks CB, I am currently doing a flight from KATL-KSFO, got about 1500ft to get to FL350 then i'll be crusing for quite awhile Smiley Blink

I believe you have about the same system that I do right now, so you should be able to get FSX looking like mine.
(With a few exceptions: that being that I have REX (a $30 addon that modifies many scenery textures - like clouds, sky, water, etc... it might do some stuff with the land, but I think ground texturs are default), and the plane that I am in - the 767 (@$50)).
Note: [REX also has a weather engine, so I get better Real World Weather]

I'll upload my FSX.cfg after this flight if you want to give it a try... note that I have a tree-mod too (freeware) which I guess helps some FPS... I also use nHancer to allow correct Video Card setting of AA and AF.

With the 767 in VC in a heavy airport, I get from 10-20 FPS, with a good average of about 15-18 [but note the FPS hit has a lot to do with the plane, you can pretty much max scenery and get 30 FPS].  At cruise right now I range 25-40 but average 30-35, again in VC with the 767.
[Note although framerate can get to about 10-15, the game still feels smooth, I might notice a microstudder when landing at a heavily populated airport with alot going on, but it does not take away from anything.]

My settings are pretty much everything on full (except I have AI traffic at about 50%, and cars/boats disabled, but with the tweaks I did, I think you could put traffic at 10-12% without any FPS hit).

Cool, I'll try it with your cfg file and see how it goes.  No hurry, I'm currently still engrossed with SImcity 4 and now with Settlers 7

Again, more nice photos.  I especially like the one that shows the plane with the farm fields below.  I've actually used FSX and to a lesser degree the other flight sim that I have to take screenshots of farm fields so that I get an idea how to layout my farms in SimCity 4 so that I get more realistic looking farms when zoomed out and or in the region view, since not all farms fit in a grid pattern like beginner SimCity 4 players will often lay them out in.

Thanks again for sharing.  I also like that last shot of it landing.

Tell me, do you see smoke from the tires in FSX upon landing the big planes?  I can't recall ever trying to land while looking from the outside at the plane so as to see if the tires smoke, as I've got enough to struggle with just to try to get the plane to land on the runway instead of the field *somewhere* hopefully on the airports property.

Yea there is the smoke, all my landing shots I do with replay and just edit the photo to remove the replay bar, I would not want to mess up my landing just to get a good shot Smiley Blink
