This is a thread for those that have created their own custom fort in Castle Forge in Settlers 7 to show off photos of your fort.

My second fort.  And let me just say that we can really make some odd looking forts, theres so many connection points (unfortunately limited to what connects there by what the developers thought would work apparently), but still even with that limitation some really odd looking forts can be made.

Really makes me want to spend my 30 or maybe it's only 20 Uplay cash (gotten from playing the game, clicking on the Uplay button and 10 more from visiting uplay.com on the castle pieces set but it seems there are only a couple pieces so would rather save up another 10 and buy the extra map as I know I'm going to want another map to play on.  Anyway, here is my second fort.

Looks like graphics have changed quite a bit. Also trying to recall, seems like a guard tower was the largest military building.

Is the fort built around the castle? Only one fort?

In Castle Forge it seems that what ever was the latest castle that you build is the one that gets used in skirmishes and multiplayer. Although it seems you can create and save how ever many castles as you like.  I guess to use the one that you'd want to use, you'd have to go into castle forge and load up the castle of your choice, and then play the skirmish mode to get your own castle to show up, maybe theres an easier way but I've not found it yet.

You start off by choosing a base for the castle, I thnk there are 3 choices, and then you add on to it like building blocks, so when I say fort, I actually meant castle.

So really, this is my castle and not a fort to speak of.

Aw, ok. Pretty neat looking castle. I have Settlers 10th Anniversary Edition and I have to say that looks better. Looking at some reviews, it looks all buildings may have gotten an upgrade. Is game play pretty much the same as previous Settlers?

It's similar gameplay, but not quite the same.  I loved playing The Settlers II 10Th Anniversary Edition, I found it to be a lot of fun, it was a shame more people didn't also feel this way to have more maps created by fellow gamers.

We will have to disagree on The Settlers II 10Th Anniversary Edition looking better.  In my opinion this is the best looking settlers thus far.  It has really returned to it's roots to some degree with all the Roley Poley people running around (although there are also some skinny people like the musketeers) and the trees are very realistic looking, so they've blended some of the original characteristics of the original settlers with some of the landscape of the later games (like Settlers 6) together into Settlers 7.

However I'd have to say that Settlers 7 plays most like The Settlers II 10Th Anniversary Edition than any of the other settlers games since the original 4.  I'll post some screenshots of The Settlers 7: Paths to a Kingdom in another thread, maybe you'll think it looks better than The Settlers II 10Th Anniversary Edition after viewing them, then again, maybe not.

Ok, back on track with my 3rd castle.

Apparently I overwrote the first castle as the game saves the castles in "slots" and it highlights the slot that the last castle was saved in so if you don't choose "--Empty Slot--" and then give it a name, simply giving it a different name will still overwrite whatever slot happens to be hightlighted.  Personally I think this is sloppy programming or an oversight on Blue Bytes part, however since the rest of the game is really polished I'm going to say oversight or over eager to port this to a console game too since many of my Xbox 360 games save in this fashion (slots).

I do think I have a tendancy to overuse those oil pouring spouts (decorative I would imagine) that I tend to place around the rims everywhere.  I don't suppose a real castle would have as many of those oil pouring spouts as I place on my castles, but oh well, gotta place something.

Anyway, my 3rd castle.

I will say that I like this one the best and will likely use it all the time until such a time as I get the new castle pieces once I earn enough uPlay points to buy the extra map first and then the castle pieces aftewards.

I should have paid more attention to my wording.  I meant to say that Settlers 7, from what Ive seen with your castle and a few reviews, looks better and some buildings, like the castle, is bigger.

Now I see what you meant by the extra $10. Paths to a Kingdom Collector Edition is $10 more. Maybe next month. This trip to Winslow and a month in a motel pretty much cleaned me out.
