 Hello and Welcome

Is there anyway to make the day last longer  in the game?  The weekends seem to fly by too.
The game speed is "normal"
I find it goes too fast for what I want to do after the sim has finished his/her job for the day.  Ie gardening,  visiting places, doing the wish thingies that come up or meeting new people where they need time to chat them up.
It's taking me ages for my sim to find a wife and he is aging.I have also made thier life the longest span in options to try and help. I also want them to die. Maybe i am trying to do too much once they finish their work for the day?
I am such a newbie at this game  Big Smiley Grin Laughing  Bashfull Female

As far as I know, this has always been the plague of the sims games unfortunately.  With the Sims 3, I gave up on my sims taking employment outside of the home and have them do what ever job they can do and still work from home, even if it means to cheat once in a while with money until they get on their feet.  In this way the sim is the master of his life and decides when to work and when to not work, when to play, and when not to play.

To be honest, in TS1, TS2 and now TS3, I've never had a Sim get married.
