After alot of research i bought settlers 6 and the expansion and its exactly what I was looking for.  Im wondering if there's user generated content available for the editor to download somewhere? Im mainly looking for more buildings and structures, I dont care about campaign mode or maps as im exclusively using the editor.
Im real surprised there isnt a forum like civfanactics for this game. .  atleast not that ive found anyway and ive spent HOURS searching google. .

I'm glad to see you found what you were looking for. I'm not sure what forums you did or didn't find for Settlers 6 but one of the few I'm familiar with is the one at the Ubisoft forums. Sadly it isn't very active though and its a forum for all the settler games so often when someone posts a question no one even knows what settler game the person is talking about. But non-theless there are a lot of threads there along with stickied threads that may have the information you are looking for.

Unfortunately, when 7 was released people quickly jumped the ship from 6 and moved on.  In my opinion to a game that was only superior in it's GUI, and with no editor for it, it's become stagnant in my opinion.

Congratulations on picking 6, the editor is a dream to work with once you learn the little things that make it tick and the things that you might still need to do to make things work.  Unfortunately I can't recall anybody that was able to create new buildings and structures for this game, I can't recall anybody even trying to just reskin the existing buildings.  I don't recall the game having the ability for modders to insert completely new buildings and all that would come with it, tech, products etc, so not likely to find it out there but if you do, please let us know, I still work in the Settlers 6 editor from time to time when I've got the time, even though I may never release any maps I'm making or hell, even play them myself.  Just fun for me to create them.

Right now I'm involved in playing Civilization 5 and working in the editor in King's Bounty: Crossworlds, which is not nearly as nice of an editor as is Settlers 6, but I'm hopeful that the world builder for Civilization 5 will be, if not better.

Yeah the editor is very very nice, I cant stop building cities lol.   It really comes as a shock that there isnt much for user made objects considering how excellent the editor is.   I havent even been able to find much of anything, a few bridges is all.   If you need them ill post them up.
I just figured out how to edit building upgrades (Castle Cathedral etc) I know there's a lvl 4 castle but im only able to get lvl 3 so thats what im currently working on figuring out.

You should post or email me some screenshots of your cities, so I can use them for ideas, the first city I made to get the hang of the editor was based off of one of your screenshots in the settlers 6 map forums.

I have civ 5 sitting here I picked it up same time I got settlers 6, I should install it and give it a go
