Excellent Price, those that were sitting on the fence should grab this while they can.

What City Builder says is probably true since the whole PC gaming world seems to be going in the direction of buying downloads (vs hard copy) which be patched or maybe even played only by having an umbilical cord through the internet to the publisher.

Meanwhile, you may wish to consider how long you have simply to store it before all the parts become workable.

A weekend sale may represent either declining sales or an impending release of a "for sale" improvement. Roll the die.

Nerdy telling someone off.

Yes, both of those are distinct possiblities.  My guess would have to be that an impending addon or expansion is planned for the very near future.

It has gotten to the point where shopping the local ebgames and local gamestop as well as the local best buy stores yields far less choice than shopping online at places digitially distributing games such as steam or impulse, hence almost my entire budget to buy games is now in digital purchases as none of the local stores around me have even a half decent supply of games anymore.

Same for me.  I never even bother to visit physical stores anymore, there's a greater range online and the prices are literally half or less.  Plus I've already got hundreds of CDs and DVDs to store; digital is much easier to manage.

Hey guys, even though my personal preference is to have a disk back-up -- I'm not complaining about buying down-loads on-line, not at all. What I'm semi-upset over is (if I understand correctly) the set-up for the free patches - such as T3 uses - which requires registration and an internet connection to have the game automatically "updated." And then I'm reading here something I don't understand -- a new game which you buy and have on your machine, but you have to be connected to play.

I have some experience with automatic updates with my anti-virus program. Although I need it, it drives me nuts (not a long trip).

I don't know, I think it's a good thing (for the developers and publishers) that they require that the user registers their game before they can use or get a patch, it's a similar principle that Stardock uses, in that sure their games may be pirated but until one registers the product they don't get any patches, so it's like an enticement for the user to use the legal version of the game so that they can keep it updated.

Places like steam are very liberal, and one doesn't need to do anything to get their games patched, steam just does it for them.

Yeah, that darn old ubisoft and their stupid new copyprotection system is going to kill Settlers 7 sales in my opinion due to having to be connected to play, and then the game saves to their servers, basically it phones home that you want to play, you want to save, you want to stop playing.  It's an assenine move  on their part and one that I think will kill the sales of Settlers 7 (my opinion).  I guess we'll see, perhaps the European audience don't mind it though.
