So, this weekends Impulse sale has Cities XL for $19.99.  That's a 50% off sale.  Will you now buy Cities XL?

I voted no again, $5-10 is about what I'd pay for it, unless they merge the online aspects (such as mass transportation) with single-player and make it free.  Then I'll be willing to pay $20.

Wow hard to believe tht they could alienate themselves so well from city building fans that we won't even give up $20.00 (less than the price of dinner for one at a semi decent restaurant).  They really have shot themselves in the foot with this one I guess.

$20 is what I'd spend on it if i bought it.  I said undecided because idk if it's worth it.  It looks good but idk how their online system works and if it's a must to really enjoy the game.  I'd never pay for online.

Planet Offer is now dead.  Come March 8, 2010 the Planets will be shut down and Cities XL 2011 will be offered.  It is not clear at this point whether 2011 will be a patch for those that own Cities XL or if it will need to be purchased seperately.

Personally, I hope that it is a patch to customers that already own Cities XL as that is the only fair way of dealing with this situation.

Yes, I do own CXL as I bought it when it went on half price sale on Impulse, so obviously I'm hoping that 2011 will just be a patch.

I'm not opposed to paying for DLC for the game since that is left to my decission  if I wish to spend a couple bucks on some DLC or not, some months I might be willing to give them 10.00 other months I may not, but since it is left up to the gamers decission I'm all for it.  The only thing that concerns me is they are sticking with their current authentication process of having to logon to their servers to be able to play.  I'm guessing this is so that nobody can pass around the DLC that they purchase to other players.  That is fine and all, but what happens when MC decides it doesn't even want to host the authentication servers anymore?

This is now MC's 2nd failure at an Online city building type of game, first was starpeace and now cities xl.  I am baffled how they didn't listen to everybody prior to beta, during beta about how it was doomed to failure and they would not get enough subscribers and should stop immediately on marketing it as an MMO and push it back to a solid and enjoyable and full features Singleplayer game.  But they failed to listen and are now in the position of trying to regain their losses by pushing 2011 out on March 8, 2010
