If you registered for membership on this site but have not yet received the confirmation activation email, there are 3 main reasons.

Apparently this came out a couple of months ago.  Jonask, Solifuge and Kaypy from the DF forums have created a tool called Stonesense that runs concurrently with DF, and allows real-time viewing of your fortress in isometric sprite-based graphics.  It looks great, and works beautifully with my dual monitors (one app on each screen).

It's still in Alpha but is quite far along and seems pretty complete.
