I was a beta tester too, and round about the 2nd or 3rd to last build that they put out, my login to the game mysteriously stopped working. I posted in their forum with others that had the same issue, and posted a support request.
Neither my forum post or my support ticket were ever answered so I couldn't ever log in to the game after that point. It was then and there that I realized they don't really have customer support at all. From some of the answers that I've seen them give to members of their game it's pretty appalling and no answer might actually be better than the answer they give.
I'm not sure at what point MC took a nose dive at one time they were filled with people willing to help, and very very friendly, now it's almost like they are envisioning themselves as the French EA equivelant and acting as such.
I actually get a laugh everytime that I see them post on Simtropolis because it's almost every post that they do, that they are apologizing for something or telling people that they are working on something. It reeks of an unfinished product and full of promises that are just as likely to be broken as all the previous assurances of one thing or another were never kept.
The biggest gripe I've been watching lately on associated forums from CXL user is "I've got 1,000,000 people in my city, what do I do now"? I guess they finally realized it's just rinse and repeat gameplay without any real challenge other than working around any existing bugs.
