Is there any way of deleting a post

1) if it's  a new thread but the only post

2) If it's just a post in an existing thread

No, not currently.  I had that feature turned on on the CivCity: Rome site and people found it too confusing, and they either emailed me asking why their thread was locked or that they had inadvertantly deleted it and wanted to know if I could restore it which made more work for me early on over at the CivCity: Rome forums, so i turned it off and never turned them back on because of this.

The other problem is that when someone deletes their own message that is involved in a topic, it can often confuse others because someone may have replied somewhere down the line in the topic and then people get confused on what they are replying to.

Best case is to just erase your message and put something like "delete thread" in the body of the message as well as in the topic too (if you can) so that way it's virtually gone, and may be seen by myself and I'll know to delete it if it's the only message in a topic thread.
