Let me just say... You didn't get taken at that price.  I didn't feel the game was worth the full price that I payed for it when it first released, but at $5.00, I really don't think you can go wrong.  Even if you only play it for 2 hours and then use the disk as a drink coaster you've gotten your money out of it.

I had too much trouble trying to control my character, lack of hand eye coordination I'd guess.  Things like jumping up on a cliff wall and then having to scoot along the cracks in the cliff, then jump to the next crack above me was just too much for me to handle properly.

Ya I probably would have never gotten the game for anything less, but when I see a game that I know is decent for $5, it is hard to pass up... especially since I have never played it, hopefully the controls are not that bad... if they are I will probably go buy the adaptor so I can use my xbox controller for the pc to give those controls a try.

Hmmm, I hadn't thought of that.  Maybe I'll give it another run through when I tire of Tropico 3.  My 360 controller is staring me in the face and I'd never have thought of trying to play it with the controller but now that you mention it, that seems to make a whole lot of sence.

so the game is a lot different than I thought, I never knew that the entire game was a memory so to speak, quite intersting... I do understand the repetitive nature of things i.e. climbing a view point to open a map, it gets a little tiresome to climb all 9 buildings just to get a complete map for example (and I wish there was a cutscrene skip button).  The controls are a little weird but I am starting to get them, I will probably stick to the keyboard and mouse as now that I am getting into the game the controls are becoming more natural.

I remember watching a dev diary sort of thing on youtube before this one came out and it looked absolutely awesome.  Things like my assasin running across roof tops and jumping people from the roof top down to the ground to attack them.  Or watching my assasin just walk through a crowd as the inhabitants of the area move aside for me.  It looked so alive and free.  But as far as I managed to get into the game I never got to experience that.

Honestly, I don't think I ever got out of the tutorial like state of the beginning of the game, last thing I remember was crossing over some wooden beams that were layed on top of deep canyons and having to crawl up a cliffside trying to find the hand and foot holes.  After falling like 13 times I gave up and called it quits figuring I just don't have the eye hand coordination to play it.  Somebody around here posted a nice screen shot on a horse I think, although it's probably been removed for being over 365 days old back when I was doing that to conserve space.

the game does feel pretty alive when you get there, and you actaully get to a horse pretty quick after the tutorial... as far as wall scaling goes, you dont need to jump or press any buttons other than the directional keys to get the job done, you just need to position your guy where he can continue up... if he is stuck try moving left or right to where the next hole is then hold up, the game takes care of the rest.

So I made my way past the repetitive nature of the game, and beat it... the story is quite interesting and am excited for ACII - which is going to address many of the issues users had with AC
