On the 14th it should come up on steam (no-preorder except on their website I believe) where if you have 2009 you also get the 50% off.  Not sure if this is going to be via enter cd-key from 2009 or if it is in your game list.

The link for pre-order on their main page apparently doesn't work. It rejected my Mastercard, Visa & Paypal.   Big Smiley Grin Laughing

I have to say that they are one of the very few companies that respond to queries and complaints. Anyway, I received an email with a new link
http://uk-focushop.gamesplanet.com/shop/citiesxl2011/?specialOffer=yes

UK's price of £14.99 apparently converts to $23.78 with an International Purchase Fee of $0.71 for a total of $24.49. So it cost me $5 to find out what a £ is.

An email is supposed to arrive (in my in-box) at 00:01 the 14th. So on the 14th at midnight, somewhere, I should have Cities 2011. Big Smiley Grin Laughing

If you are in the U.S., you need to select the U.S. flag in the upper right corner of the page where you enter your 2009 serial number to get the price worked out in dollars.

I was a bit miffed that people kept telling me that I'd have to pay about $27.00 for the 2011 version, which would be by buying in Euros.  People said, 'The Euro is stronger than the dollar, why do you think you should pay less' and other crap like that.  Once I switched the page to U.S. dollars the price was presented at $19.99 which I payed.

I hope they can produce said email at midnight on this coming Thursday, as most know I rarely sleep anymore so it would be pleasant to play at midnight, but if not, no great hardship, theres a few mods that I want to try out in Civ 5.

Wish I'd seen that before I ordered.

If it is a pre-order you should be able to cancel and then rebuy using the american page.  At least they should grant a request like that, you don't technically own the product yet.

That's what Steam did for me on a preorder that I requested they cancel on the day of release.  They told me that because it was still before the actual time of release that day and I hadn't gotten the product they would grant the request.

The only thing I would be concerned with is that a couple people say on the CXL forums that they tried to buy and it didn't go through, then when they tried again it told them that their serial number was already used.  Would just be a technicality, but might delay getting the game maybe for $5.00
