Thanks Crowebird.  I was down at the local best buy this afternoon and they had a 280 I believe it was for 199.00 but I just couldn't force myself to open the wallet to that much cash flowing out of it.

Maybe next month.  Too many expenses this month anyway.  Apparently our "Governator" Arnold Schwartzneger, must have re-instated the "Car Tax" that we used to have here in California, and which he repealed after he took office since that was one of his campaign promises, so my car registration went from $230 (last year) to about $430.00 (this year). And of course it's due this month.  If it had stayed the same you can be assured I would have a new 280 in my computer tonight to play Need for Speed: Shift.

Well in all fairness, the Truck is only 2 years old (this will be only the 2nd registration cycle for it), by the time it's as old as our BMW (1990 I think), it should be down to about 75.00 or so, however that's a long ways away (17 more years).

My parents are moving to Florida and have asked us to move there too, I'm almost seriously contemplating it.

Holy crap, that is expensive and here was me thinking our $247.00NZ for a car 1 year reg was  dear..

Do you know when we pay for our petrol at the pumps it has a GST tax added on to the total amount, and within the petrol cost there is another  tax  that is meant to go towards roading(so called used for roading...cough cough..if you saw our roads here in the North Island it sure would make you wonder where the money is going Questioning).  AND that "roading tax" has gone up 3cents a litre!!!! So we are paying GST on the roading tax too which is illegal....and the govt is getting away with it and has done for years.  Now that sucks big time!!

Okay back to Risen.  Could we have some screenies pat?..pretty please   Hello and Welcome

It's like our california state lottery, the money is supposed to go to the schools, however it's only a really small percentage that goes to the schools, the rest they use for other things in governement.  But people are hooked on trying to be the next millionaire so they just turn a blind eye to the fact that every dollar they give to the lottery, the schools might only see 7 to 15 cents (if that).

I was at the petrol station yesterday and they have up large signs now telling people to go to some website because if the govt passes some new law (cap and something) then we can expect to pay an additional 70 cents per gallon.  That would take us back up near the $4.00 per gallon mark here in Ca.  The last time the prices went that high on gas the economy came to a screeching halt, all because of oil speculators.  People in Ca are ticked off at paying high insurance premiums as well, and many want the govt to just add an additional tax on each gallon of fuel so that *anybody* that drives in california regardless where they are from will be insured so that way none of these folks that have no insurance will be hurting people if they get into an accident (financially anyway).  I'm all for paying an additional 25 cents or so per gallon to not have to pay my monthly insurance note.

Anyway, as you said, back to Risen, how about some screenies pat.

I have just bought Risen ( while waiting for Tropico 3  Sleeping) and so far the game is a lot of fun.  Very Gothic
The one hiccup I have is tho a goodsized manual it is in German/Austrian(?)  Looking around cautiously.  Not one english word!!
I am querying this with the place where I bought it so will let you know (hopefully) why it is that way.
Thank goodness the game is in english!
Oh well, back to it.

Thanks for the idea..but no there is no english manual on the disk.  However I have found and downloaded the manual from steam power..so all is good.

Really am enjoying the game.  Those small "chieftian?" critters sure are hard to kill with an unskilled character  Agreed Happy.  Have  lots of quests so far which is great.  I'm at Harbour town at present and doing stuff there while the map is being made so then I can eventually high tale it out of there.
Played consistently for eight hours  yesterday with a small break for tea  Laughing.
