Please friends, take a moment today, for some silent remembrance of those who died eight years ago...how the nation came together, and the hope that someday we can come together again.

You're all good people, my internet friends...today, I'm subdued because eight years ago the enemy revealed itself and everything changed.

Take care,
pat

... eight years ago the enemy revealed itself and everything changed. ...

Respectfully, that "Will-O-the-Wisp" enemy had identified itself many times before by attacks. We as a nation believed too much that our own government is the source of all evil. That's what a popular President told us.

We paid a price for neglecting the government. The evidence is that nothing has changed.

While we morn for the Twin Tower and Pentagon and the other plane victims, how much do we morn for the thousands of our maimed soldiers in the unending war we do not know how to end?

*sigh*  sadly CK, you are correct...perhaps the better wording should have been 'the enemy walked out into the open air' .

Take heart, however...we may be waking up again.

later,

Well, I watched all the specials on TV this 9/11, some of which I had not seen before, and some which actually brought tears to my eyes at times.  I find the whole situation sad, not only that there are people around the globe that would like to kill our citizens, but that we are in this war that really doesn't feel like it's accomplishing a whole lot.  Seems we are killing off our own soldiers without accomplishing much.  But what do I know, I don't watch the news if I can help it, so for all I know they've been catching tons of terrorists by these military actions.  I dont know.  I think war in itself is sad enough in this age, something that is terribly barbaric, but I guess at this point in time there is still no dealing with radicals that think force is the way to do things except to deal force back to them.  A necessary evil maybe?
