I know we all pretty much agree on this, but it bears repeating...

IF Monte Cristo pulls this off, this may be the greatest non-historical city builder of all freaking time...

This description of transport/trade/importing and exporting has me salivating....

Combine everything they've promised w/ the possibility of a non-mandatory online aspect (i.e., you do NOT have to play on line to enjoy the game) and well, holy crap!

Im in full agreement with Pat on this one.  This could turn out to be the absolutely best non-historical city building game of all time.

CB, it's like, I don't want to get my hopes up on this game...because everything they're promising seems so great and if they come through on 80% of it, well, it will still be awesome, you know?

The 'reach' that MC has attempted here is laudable for sure!

Yup I know exactly what you mean.  I've sort of given up on watching games before release now because I don't want to see all the hype then get all excited by it only to have what I think is going to be in the game not be in the game or be so badly bugged that it's not usable.  I occasionally visit the Cities XL site but I hardly ever go there and read the blogs or forums, I don't want to get my hopes up on this one as I severely need a new modern (non-historical) city building game.  While I still love Simcity 4 I'd love to have a new one with all the bells and whistles.  I do "hope" that this is going to be the one.
