Sorry for cross-posting, but the old Guild 2 forums appear to be fairly inactive.   And my one question has morphed into 2!

I just bought The Guild 2 + expansion from Direct2drive, and unfortunately the only  manual . pdf file included is the one for the expansion.   So now I know all about what's different from the original game, which is not terribly helpful to this newbie player.

I am going through the tutorial, and I have just entered the town hall to try my hand at citizenship.   My tutorial instructions are to leave the building with my character and the camera.   I get the camera part, but my character doesn't seem to want to use any of the doors inside the building.   I also don't have any "get the heck out of here" options in my action bar.

How the heck do I exit the building, please?    Crying

As for my second question:  I also recently purchased Imperium Romanum from D2D and it came without a manual.   I'm wondering if anyone else has had this issue with D2D.   I've purchased lots of other games from them without problem, but now this is two games in a row.   I'm starting to think I might need to go elsewhere for games in digital format.   Anyone have different/better experiences elsewhere?

Hello and Welcome doublenerds  Welcome to City Builders.

The UI for Guild 2 takes some time and practice getting use to it...there is a Leave Building UI "icon" available for use.  Your Character will move IN and OUT of buildings if you either Enter or Exit using the Camera and Clicking on a Spot for the character to "go to" (a yellow circle type of waypoint).  The Doors are sometimes pourous enough so when you click on them the character will go through it...you though have to Leave the Building using the UI icon or with the camera by Clicking on your character to move to his destination spot.  Hope this is understadable..with practice it should make clearer sense.   Smiley Blink

You can also use the UI menu to move your active characters.  For example if you want to move to your House...Click the character and then Click on the House in the Menu and he/she will have the "go to" that selection as a destination.  This can be used for all the building menus, I use it as a shortcut when sending my character to the Market to buy or sell items.

I agree D2D manuals are not the best..if they exist.  I personally do not Buy my games that way..but a few members here do and have had similar experiences.

Hopefully you can continue to learn and enjoy this game..it is one of my all time favorites.  Thanks for posting.

 Hello and Welcome  pat!!

Great to know you are involved in the BttR work. Sounds fantastic!!

I'll have to wait until I get to my OWN gaming PCs..where the Guild is at the top of the List of games I'm hungry to play this Winter.   wink

Bashfull Female..hopefully I haven't forgotten how to play, so go lightly with the *expert* thing...hehe  I know for a fact you have just as many hours invested into this Title as anyone.

Max, the 2.1 patch for PotES is STUNNING....it literally is a mini addy pack...w/ a guild house and guild requests and you can be the alderman!

It is superb and the way that the BttR team has made it compatible w/ the BttR mod (which, in full for PotES 2.1 addy pack, they're calling Back to the Roots Sovereign Addition) is superb!

And there are three new maps, too!
