Oops, I mentioned perhaps playing 1402. You have set me straight on the date with your "adds up to 9" post. Although I have not purchased any games lately, I definitely will be getting 1404.  Agreed Happy

The Game *Date* (numbers) always add up to NINE (9)...  Thus the first 1602 works out 1+6+0+2=9 and the next 1503 = also makes 9 Our latest on the shelves is 1701...which is a 9 again.  SO, this latest 1404 Anno game announcement probably is the LAST realistically available numeric revelation with the 1404 for the 9 sum total relevance.  I suppose 1305, 1206, 1107, and 1008 would be going to far backwards in Shipping and the Age of Discovery to dictate a valid game title.  But we've been surprised before... so who knows ??

Oh my Gawd! Im Confused  Now that is spooky. Just plain spooky!

I'm happy to report that I'm getting better at this game, but now I'm gonna have to look at it a-glance.  There is something evil in it.... something very very terrible and evil. Is probably the Trader. From now on I'm gonna be very suspicious about these missions of his. Who knows? Ya might end up in a hautned closet somewhere.

Ack! See there! It screwed up my spelling!

Thanks for the warning, Max. You probably saved my soul from a miserable fate!  Big Smiley Grin Laughing

Max!  Have you seen that The Guild 2: Venice is out?  I bought it, but I'm NOT playing it until they release a patch, I understand, in usual Dreamcatcher fashion, that it was rushed out the door and is buggy as hell!!!

later,

Thumbs Up  Yes pat!!  I had Shellie pick it up for me.  I haven't play Diddly for close to five months now.  I tried to contact TomX about some of the issues I found in BttR, but I think you may have discovered them too.  I can hardly wait to try my "luck" with any of our all time favorites.

It's sure a different world without those core genius innovators we've come to know at 4head and on that note I worry about Ascaron too.  With the demise of Sunflowers and the porous nature of JoWood.. I'm at a loss figuring out where our great gaming authorships will come from in the future.   Smiley Blink  For now I just hope I can manage to continue playing...my head seems "all right" ( if it ever was hehe).. but truly my fingers are a tad feeble. *snif*

Thanks for the heads up....  You a Philly Fan ??...by chance?.. if so Congrats on the World Series   Thumbs Up

Hi Max,

Thought you would be interested in hearing that CotN online has gone beta. Gloria invited me to join them. It doesn't seem at all like the original, and it's VERY slow. Much worse than 1701.  Flaming Mad
I won't be playing it unless it improves a lot.

Yup, I agree with OT, it's way too slow and while I have a nome there, unless it changes, I have little interest in actually playing it in it's current condition.  The problem might not be that it's too slow but rather that theres little to do while waiting to do something else.

A game I like is simcountry (simcountry.com i believe) which is a slow online game but theres always something to do , enough to do to make me think I actually accomplished something in that play session compared to nile online which i feel like ive slapped down another building and done nothing else.  blech not for me i guess.  Although Im sure there are some who will love it as they love all things TM.

Hello and Welcome  I suppose we are a trio of testers who recall how the Original Cotn came about.  So it is hard to imagine making an online version to match... but my hats off for their effort.

As for finding something to do in s-l-o-w games I've discovered that I've paid attention to other aspects of what can be used to keep me busy.  I guess I started developing this trait back in the Original Pharaoh..while waiting for Pyramids and other monuments to be built..  I never needed the "hurry up" mode offered later on.  Smiley Blink

Time is a precious commodity and each player has to discern how much to invest into game play.  Personally I've leaned toward savoring every game like a fine banquet... partaking at a speed where each and every flavor offered can be experienced.  Probably why I'm not much of a RPGer and have a slow mouse reaction time.   Laughing

Thanks for the info Taz and CB... we can only hope that something good comes out of this..whether it's TM's deal or not.  We'd have the same reaction if FF did this to CivCity...most likely   Big Smiley Grin Laughing
