Two nights ago I came up with this great idea to program a Tower Defense Game Maker, but then this morning (24) hrs later I figured why not build a bunch of game makers specific for different games starting with a City Building Game Maker =).  Now my favorite game of this kind is Sim City.  So what do you like about city building games and what do you dislike?

Before you say I am crazy, I have been programming for over 10years =)

I can't say that there is anything that I disliked about sim city 4 itself with the one exception of the way the buildings would build ontop of the landscape which I guess almost all CB style games do, and which I wish they would figure out a way to make them feel more naturally planted in the ground.  But other than that, I liked the complexity and the feeling of managing a city in Sim City and which no other modern day'ish city building game has afforded me since.  Perhaps Cities XL will do so however the screenies I've seen in the last blog entry showed that they have a definite foundation on the buildings (like Sim City Societies buildings do) which is sort of a bummer, but still subject to change I suppose.
