Is there a mod for "real" water and not the paintable ones available?

Some of the vegetation that I want to use when plopped down remove the "water" tile.

I feel bit dumb asking this  Bashfull Female, I've looked and looked but where is the tool for flattenning the land so that I can place a road?  Questioning. The manual just talks about it, doesn't show where it is

Ive really had no luck with the leveling tool at all.  I wanted to build in an area and had a bunch of fraternity houses and wanted to place more of them but there was a hillside behind them where I wanted to build.  So I attempted to use the leveling tool and instead of endingup with a leveled area tha I  could build on, I ended up digging a strip mie instead, At first I was pleased figuring that it had dug a hole so deep that I'd surely find diamonds in there, but that wasnt the case.

I've not tried it again since.

Agree. Is there anyway to reduce the size of the flattening tool area?

I miss the days where the sim series gave you complete control of your cities.   All good things must come to an end I guess.

While I haven't played the full game (its sitting in an . iso on my hdd still) I played the demo and wasn't all that impressed.   Maybe destinations is better, but I just didn't see myself getting very into it.   The graphics were nice, but it lacked the depth I'm used to seeing in the series.   Felt like a kids game.

I tried it again, I wanted to flatten an area near the corner of the map so that I could place the first power plant over there, only to find that the flattening tool dug down a hole in the landscape, indeed it did flatten the bottom of the hole that it dug, so I guess in some twisted reality world, it did flatten the landscape.

I've still not found a small or large flattening tool, just one size doesn't fit all tool.

As far as better, I don't necesarily think that destinations is better, but rather than by patch 5, they had built some game back into the game that was lacking from the start.

Destinations just added travellers, and some assorted more buildings to the game but didn't bring nearly as much to the game as did patches 1 through 5 which were free. Well it added more than that.... Scenarios,  more buildings, travellers, and some more disaster options etc. etc. etc.

Personally Im having nothing but issues with destinations.  It consumes mass quantities of RAM (1.2GB) then locks up the game to where only my mouse can move around the screen, the rest of the game sits dead still.  I have to go to task manager to kill the process.  Sometimes it breaks free itself and the ram consumption drops back down to a normal level of about 400-500MB and the game will play on, but if that doesn't happen in the first 10 minutes of the lock up it's not going to.

Now TM is talking like they use to talk with Caesar IV, and that they don't know if there will be another patch as it's not their game, it's EA's game and up to them.  Good Ol' TM back to their roots. Laughing Looking around cautiously

My personal opinion at this point is that the person who green lighted SimCity: Societies for the go realized what a cockup he had done with the sim city series by naming this game in the same franchise and they put out so many patches to try to bring it around and now they just realized it's not gonna happen, it's not gonna be a top seller 5 or 7 years after it orignally was released like SC 4 was/is.  So they are likely going to back off now on pumping any more money into it.  I do however hope that we see a final patch to fix the problems that destinations brought us, but as they say, it's up to EA to put any more money into the game and to pay TM to fix the problems their coding introduced to the game.  I wish I worked in an industry where my empoloyers paid me to fix the mistakes that I introduce myself.

I may make a lier out of myself here, but since I haven't been using the quick save with SimCity: Societies and Destinations lately, I have had no lockups....(so far).  As soon as i used the quick save, approx ten minutes into the game it began to lag gradual then increase and then lockup.  I save frequently now by only using the normal save option.

I think I may reinstall those roads I thought were causing my problems  earlier and see if the lag and lockups happen too.

I don't use the quick save per say, I just use the Ctrl+S to quickly get to the save screen then press the save button, and yes to override the confirmation of overwriting a previous save.

I have no mods installed in this installation, I've got to go out and find some good ones, I don't want to clutter up menus that are already tremendously full with more stuff if Im not going to use them, much like I do in Simcity 4 where my menus feel as if they are miles long.
