I don't know why this is but easy on easy strategy mode Im always losing money.  I started to build a city last night with destinations installed and was losing money hand over fist, I notice the budget sliders but even reducing them to the point where it says buildings will likely collapse couldn't balance any budget.

Obviously veteran players aren't having this difficulty as I am, or are you all not playing strategy mode?

I should mention that now that destinations and all the other patches they've applied to the game, it's actually starting to feel (to me anyway) like a whole game compared to when it was first released which to me felt like a completely rushed and unfinished product, seems some of the larger game sites are starting to finally agree with this, even though the one gripe they have remains of buildings and their stats seemingly very arbitrary though a skill full modder Im sure could fix that with enough time and patience.

CB, it never matters WHAT mode I start on, the city bleeds cash at first until a specific balance is reached and then it starts to roll in for me!!  But it DOES take a bit of time!

Don't forget you can now take out loans!

I do not have many mods at all - but after I installed patch#5 I noticed my money was being drained away by a mod [which I think is called '24hr mod'] which used to [before the patch] actually add a little cash every day as well as always having the button enabled to send out repair-men for only 100S.

The names to the mods and the text explaining their special abilities disappeared even before I installed patch#5 Questioning Crying.

I found that the cash flow and money seems to work much better with no mods in use at all - maybe the maintenance cost of mods could be part of the problem because it is unlikely that the person who made it put that maintenance cost bit in [I'm not a modder obviously Laughing]

I have also noticed that a lot of travellers tend to get stuck in one spot - getting very upset and angry - but never going home Funstrated!

[bashfemale]sorry - the mod that definitely drains the cash is not '24hr mod' but 'maintenace pack' Bashfull Female

Thanks, I'll have to check that out, because I know I've installed 2 mods, but in the mods list they don't even show up in destinations mod manager, so somethings screwy with it.  Maybe they are installing elsewhere and activating, so maybe I need to look and see where they are actually installing and see if the maintenance mod is still installed from the early days.  All I do know is that out of 4 games, within the first 1.5 hours I am running making like 200 profit a day, but as soon as the weekend comes, I lose any profits I've made and everything goes into disrepair due to lack of funds even though things should be balancing out.
