 Smiley Blink
Hi all, back again with more news and titbits:-

Had a look on the new forum www.mygameforums.com very professional, well laid out, lots of potential- just needs some user activity to jump start it.

I'm an eternal optimist, hoping for a new game that will keep me enthralled with visual delights, challenging gameplay ( not downright near impossible) and an adult fun factor. So have hopes for Mass Effect and Spore. On my travels on the Gamespot website see that there are plans to release a Mk 2 version of Majesty. Doing some research on the original it looks unusually good and am deliberating on whether to buy it, as the user reviews are ecstatic.

I'm trying to curb my game buying impulses as I have a stack of games which I've bought, installed and quickly tired of for no good reason other than my threshold for boredom has risen and a feeling of deja vu of having been there, done that, got the T- shirt.

I spend more time working on the PC and don't want my leisure time taken up with lacklustre titles that don't either stimulate me mentally or give me some fun. I found myself playing Worms Forts under Siege and had a great time, though get fed up with the WASD controls after a while. Recently started playing The Golden Horde, my first impressions were favourable, good scenery, nice gameplay, interesting scenario - Mongols, Russians, Crusaders set in the 13th Century. Then I realized that all three opening missions in the Campaign opened with a stealth mission, creeping around avoiding enemies behind every bush, the type of thing I hate as progress is so slow, so its on the pending heap.

On a more serious note I have a feeling of greater urgency as to not waste time because I think we are all living in a Golden Age (The Edwardian Era of the last century) and its the calm before the storm before momentous events overtake us all. Hence I'm spending more time sailing and fishing and communing with nature whilst I'm still able to.

Hence I'm only gaming sporadically and am getting more satisfaction actually researching and building the PC's - seeing pad 11's credit reserves for an Alienware system- I could build 2 or 3 uber rigs for that.

Good Luck with it I hope you have fun, though I hope the SLI driver issues don't catch you out, some games get bolshy running on them.

Best Regards

Smiley Blink  I enjoyed your comments MaxKos.  We all have to pursue what gives us the most back.. if it is possible.  I enjoy the time I invest in my games.. if I didn't I'd be doing something else.

I'll try any game.. I rarely take "reviews" from people who have Marketing agendas to satisfy or try to control a buying public.   Thus I've found games that I love to play..all by my lonesome.  It doesn't have to be the most popular game promoted by the gaming industry ..as I've discovered.. can be full of over hype and misleading expectations.

It's the good games that make up for ALL the unworthy ones.. plus it gives me that valued happy time I'm seeking.

Great to see your comments..  and yes I too spend a certain amount of time with our natural world.   Smiley Blink
