Is there a patch or something that I should be installing because these tax amounts are crazy.  Theres no way I can make any profits like this:
Between the wages (to whom im paying them I really don't know, but.. Between the wages and the taxes I lose double what I make every week, that's just insane.

The numbers look normal ..if you have already invested in a business.  It takes time to develop a cost effective distribution ..where the profit out weighs the costs.

I pumped out a random map screen.. I'm about 4 years into this game.  I've looted several Pirate nests ..I'm pretty set cash wise.

note the Profit in the 4 week selection.

I think this game is trashed.  I've taken 3 loans, I've given my ship to a pirate who's sent me a lousy 2500 gold since I first gave it to him in the beginning of the game, I have three smelting buildings and one half timber house, and I continue to lose gold hand over foot.  I tell my trading house administrator to sell the pig iron at well under what it is selling for in town but it never gets sold to anybody, it's marked for sale, it's marked to keep 0 in stock, yet it just keeps piling up.

I think when I have time I'll just have to read the manual front to back before tackling this game, it makes little sence to me at the moment.  Thank for the information though, it is appreciated.

Smiley Blink  I can understand whee you could develop feeling like that CB.  One thing this game won't do is allow the player to decide to build, buy, and associate with Pirate and become successful.

On my listing... I have things you should not DO in Patrician depicts many things new players always try to do..and that leads them to much frustration.  I went through it..I'm sure pat did too.. though I think he plays a different style of game than I do.. he still has to do the Basics correct or the game will not allow you to be successful.

I'll attempt to post some interpretation to the game mechanics on areas that are vital to making the game more manageable.  I will say this..it took me many weekends to figure this game out to where I am now... and I'm still refining my gameplay.

One thing about Patrician III that helped..that it was the one a a few games we played here at home with a Four PC Lan.  We also played Capitalism II on my Lan... which I played in several MP International contests.. There's a fellow from Hong Kong I could never beat..second in the World in '99 seemed like a great accomplishment.   wink

My vision kept me from playing those massive long hours of online MP..so I'm getting by with what I can do in single player anymore.  Though I do play Patrician using the MP all by myself..that's a hoot for sure.  I wish pat would describe some of his tactics..as I know he would've been a blast to blast in MP.. he likes the game so much.   Smiley Blink

I truly hope you can return to this one with a fresh new outlook sometime.  I certainly understand how it can be exasperating too.

I've been thinking that if ever there was a game that required a walk through this one is one of them.  I think this is one of those game that if you could look over the shoulder of an experienced player and see what he does almost step by step  and then ask why he has done something would be a great help.

Anybody that feels healthy and up the challenge, feel free.  We always talk about doing walkthroughs (even a mini one to get people started in the right direction would be great) so it would be great if those that have the health and stamina to do it could do it for eternal posting here in the new Patrician III CBG forum or should I be saying MGF.

Thumbs Up  I agree CB.   I'll search the Ascaron forum for some of my posts when the game was new.  I'd hoped that well seasoned players like pat might chime in too.  The one ingredient to playing Patrician..is the slow as molasses process in establishing your game character.  That usually drives new players nuts..  when the game is hurried..it'll bit you... yeah there..  Sticking Tongue Out

I'll see what I can dig up..  It may be something that will assist in some small way.  I'm so bias toward the game I have to step back occasionally just to give other players some breathing room.

Thanks for trying..you are a real trooper when it come to games in general   wink
