Thumbs Up  Wow UC...That IS one big patch.

I haven't played this one since the kids brought it up.. I still have the Demo.  I like what they fixed in the game..certainly could make it more interesting.

If I can snag the game from my kids..maybe I'll check it out too..  If I like it..or can actually play it with my poor vision..then that will be even greater still..  Agreed Happy

I've been waiting on that really large free patch coming out later this year before I try witcher again.  I still find it immensely boring to be honest just because I think that the way they have us doing the fighting with the three different styles and having to switch between them seems so consolish and tacked on, and then theres the limitations of where we can wander to blocked by a fence near a meadow, or some other thing, where as in Two Worlds we can pretty much wander as we please until we hit the edge of the world.

Sweathing from thinkng hard Wow..Now you've caused me to recall that "switcharoo" with fighting styles ..etc..    Barfing  I have enough trouble with hotkey weapon switching than analyzing my foe and click the proper button so I can fight properly.  Whoever dreamed that up hasn't made it into the twenty first century of gaming..  Now if your character automatically adapted to whatever style needed..that would give me a fighting chance to play this one.   Smiley Blink

Yeah you summed up that aspect of the game perfectly with Barfing.  The game does have it's good points but to me it's overshadowed by the weak choice of having to switch fighting styles midstream.  Seems to me they even had to put in a pause button so that the slower of us out here could manage it.  I just find it annoying.  Let me just hack and slash.

But you know it takes a certain special person to really appreciate TW because it's all about the story, and not about the loot which is not my thing, I want the ubar gear I want the [*******] sword of stomach slashing, I want the horned helm and the kings shield of invisibility but none of that is important in TW, it's all about making sure that I've hit the right fighting tactic button and hit my left mouse button when my cursor lights up indicating it's time to do so.

What me, bitter? Nah, not really.  Just bored silly but hopefully that free large expansion sort of thing that they've announced for later on this year will bring me around to be on their side of the fence instead of looking at all the lovely green grass on my side of the fence in Two Worlds and many other games I have plans for this weekend like Rollercoaster Tycoon III with all expansions, and Civilization 4 and all expansions, and and and  and and every other game that I've been installing into Vista tonight.  If I installed it tonight/this morning, it's gonna get played to some degree this weekend, but witch do you suppose didn't get reinstalled this morning?  I think you know the answer to that unfortunately.

Hell, I might even give Partician III another go, I am installing it next after the 2nd expansion for Civilization 4 gets done.  I spent far too much time installing SimCity 4 again, and then checking out SC4Devotion to download the maps so that I hav some fresh clean maps to play on, my old cities are or will be gone soon never to be seen again.  It's the way I like it when I move to a new OS I might as well have new cities to play on too.

Big Smiley Grin Laughing  I suppose it is time well spent..setting up a Fresh and nice clean slate to jump in and play.  I'm really saddened that TW's seemed to pick on your good nature..and poked you in the eye ..whenever your attempts to be treated fairly and sanely.. both by the game and those wiseguys at Southpeak.. I know I'd be miffed ..no doubt about it.

I guess TW's appealed to me because of the lack of forcing the issue to GO go go or Die..that is in so many RPG's.  I piddle along at my pace..and the game world is pleasant..and I have sussed out where safe places are..to spend the nightcycle..  Though the game is so beautiful at night..when you are way up on a cliff..looking out over the massive game world.  If I was able to see as well as you.. it might make me *sniffle* a bit.  Seeing how far games have come since the 80's..and my fascination with the Adventure title Land of Zork.. it's truly amazing.

As for Patrician..I sure hope the few members who have just started playing are doing alright.  pat can back me up on this.. that game just about fried my brain..learning and remembering what to do when..and watching out for those random cash killers.  Eventually I refused to use the "pirating" aspect.. I think Ascaron put it in for the kiddies..who wanted to play both sides of life offered in the game.  Besides it was stressful..worrying about WHO might've seen your deed.. then comes the Fines.. tsk tsk..  Sticking Tongue Out

Give us your personal Vista report.. UC seems to be doing alright with it..and that is great.  I might play something else this weekend too.. can't think of anything right off...Mmm?  I'll think of something..always do.   Laughing
