 Thumbs Up  Thanks UC..

I checked and I have all the Net framework updates 1.0 and 2.0 plus My DX is updated as of March..this year.  The error is about a game file that isn't present.  That is why a DL'd the file twice just in case.

I tried several different approaches to installing..so everything in the DL was in its own folder.  The game installs OK.. its only when I start the game that I get the Error..which says to report this to MS or the game developer.

Umm that was strange Max !

Did you try an alternative download location --- it's a long shot, but you never know  Smiley Blink

I do know that some people had problems to get the game to start --- maybe a look in the official forum can give a hint...

Official Site:

Good luck again Max !!

Smiley Blink Yep... I got my Dl's from two separate sites.  From the list offered by Paradox's download info page.

That's when I double checked to see if my DX and and Frameworks were updated too.

I check the forums there... maybe there's a quirk I've missed.

Thanks for all the suggestions UC.  Maybe this game just doesn't like me.   Crying

Smiley Blink  I do have the latest DX as I mentioned ..the latest was released in March of this year.  That is if you are referring to DX 9c... I have no use for DX10.. as I have it on my Vista machine and I personally not like the OS for gaming whatsoever.

I might warm up to it when DX10 games are released..and I have no other option.  But SiMCity:Societies made up my mind on my Vista box..and an OS that takes 30% more resources and requires 33% more Ram..and has over a Terabyte of video and manages all so poorly ..so doesn't impress me that much.  CB mentioned about slow booting..earlier today.. my Sli Vista PC takes three times the time my XP box takes.. and I have the updates and best drivers.  I'm a performance freak..and that PC has every opportunity to fly and just doesn't, so I use the XP box I built last Spring.. with one 8800 Ultra.. and one Gig less Ram.. runs circles around the Vista box.

I applaud those who are using Vista successfully.  So long as everyone is enjoying their experience no matter what they are doing..that is the key.  Mine is sort of dark .. and the bright spot still is with XP..for now.  I think earlier discussions I said I'd let Vista get a few updates under its belt..and see if some of the resource factors improve.  It's bigger, needs more, uses more.. manages the excess with abandon.  Not a good indicator in my book.

Hello and Welcome Europa Universalis:Rome has now been released.  GoGamer has it on their site for $45. wink Happy Dance Holiday Presents  Question:  Is this only a US or are they going to sell in the UK also? On the GoGamer site, it only lists the US version, I believe. Questioning

Agreed Happy  Thanks kat.   I have the Limited Edition of EUIII so most likely will wait until this one hits the Local Ebgames ship.  The EU games are for those long cold winter nights.. playing with a pot of coffee handy.   Well for me at least.   Big Smiley Grin Laughing
