I voted Ancient
Actually, I'd quite like Medieval as well.
Not sure what you mean by Industrial, but If you mean 16th - 19th century, yes I'd like that too

I too voted Ancient.  Im very much enamored with Roman, Greek and Asian ancient history.  Becuase when playing ancient time period games we get a sence of what could have been and how we could have changed history in some way.

With futuristic, well.... It hasn't happened yet, so we are not really changing anything plus I've yet to find a futuristic city builder game that intrigues me at all.  Actually I can't really recall of any futuristic city builder game, other than perhaps the online game Starpeace which is futuristic but doesnt intrigue me at all anymore and I find it dull and lackluster.

Ancient! Whoot, Whooot!

I would choose All besides Modern & Futuristic; and please no Fantasy if it was available.
So i have voted Medieval. Ancient is OK for me too, but in the last years a lot of strategy games dealing with ancient
scenarios were released (not only the well known city building games, but also games like Chariots of War, Spartan or
Celtic Kings); hence i maybe have enough of it.
As for Medieval: the only acceptable medieval building game i know of is Stronghold Crusader. Games like Great Invasions
or Europa Universalis II are too abstract for me; i want to manage my troops and towns by myself, and not let the CPU
calculate everything in the background so that i get confrontated only with the results. Additionally both have no building part
what leaves me somehow frustrated.
Knights of Honor could have been a good start if it had have given players the opportunity to add new cities and govern
them in detail.

I voted for ancient, since most of the games I play are set in that era.
But futuristic might be interesting (please, no fantasy), a chance to let your imagination run wild  Big Smiley Grin Laughing

I would like to see a 'New World' game that was set in about 1800's. Something that dealt with building a city with only the tools and materials at hand in that era (yep I know the ancient games do that, but they really don't use the right tools and such).

I would like to see the game begin with two or three families travelling into the wilderness with only what they could carry in their covered wagons - one per family. Housing would start as the wagons themselves and progress through soddies, dugouts and cabins. Cabins could only be available if their was fiorest nearby, ortherwise they would have to stay in soddies until there was enough good shelter for people and livestock that the men could travel upriver and float rafts of logs down - providing there was a river!

I want it life-like. People died out there. Of exposure, of medical problems...bad water...malnutrition...injuries.

It just feels strange to me that our Romans in 500 BC have no problems staying alive, taking baths and building anything they darned well please, and yet 2300 years later, life expectancies even in actual towns with what passed for doctors and 'civilized living' were about 35 years at most.

It would be fun having to negotiate with natives with no common language, figure out what indigeous food sources there were and conserve what water and wood could be found. Am I just daydreaming or does anyone else think this could be a fun game to explore?

Hi MHBrands,

I think your ideas are great  Big Smiley Grin Laughing
It's time we had something set in the US, and with all the problems the pioneers had, solving their problems in a game would be very challenging.
To bad we don't have the where-with-all to collaborate on this  Looking around cautiously
