We are currently looking for members that have the qualifications to create their own mini-website for each of the games that we list in the forums here.

For example we list Zeus/Poseidon as one of the forums here, so we are looking for a qualified individual(s) to create, administrate and maintain a sub.domain website that we will be hosting on this website.  So if you wanted to take over the Zeus/Poseidon area of the website than you would be given a sub.domain name of zeus.citybuildergames.com and you would be able to create your own forum and portal using the same software that we use here.

Any or All of the current messages in the forum for the game listed in our current forums would be transfered over to your own forums.

You must possess the listed qualifications below:
 • Time: You must have the time to create and properly maintain the sub game site.
 • Creativity: You must be creative enough to design your own website using the supplied forum and portal software that we will provide at no cost to you.
 • Technical: You must be have the technological experience to be able to use the adminsitration, moderation of the software that we will provide (SMF Forum software and Tiny Portal portaling software)
 • Maturity: You must be mature and capable of moderating the forum in a mature way.  We want all of our sub domain sites to be as friendly and well run as is possible.
 • Experience: You Must
have prior experience running a busy website[/li]
[li]References: You Must provide us with personal references from no less than 3 individuals or companies that can prove that you have experience and can maintain and moderate a forum.  We will check up on all references that are provided[/li]
[li]You must be over the age of 18 years old.  There are NO exceptions to this rule[/li]
If you have the qualifications listed above then please PM me with the necessary information and anything you feel will help us to decide if you are the right person for the position.  Please note that if you do NOT hear from us within 1 weeks time then we have decided that you would not be the right person for the positon.

All of these positions are NON paying positions, seeing as we don't earn any money from this site, we are not going to be paying out salaries to people for creating their own sub.domain fan sites that we will be hosting free of charge.

Thank you for your interest and I look forward to hearing from you soon.
I have read this several times, and my only idea (since you so far seem to have no takers) is that perhaps you might consider just getting some help moderating the forums already here. People would need to be far less talented and have a bit less time to donate, while still needing to be trustworthy and have a bit of knowledge.

I know several of us pop in many times a day and could easily help to moderate (i.e. answer questions, shuffle topics to the right folders, etc) but have enough work/school/family hours that we can't honestly commit to much more than that.

I am having a hard time figuring out exactly what you are looking for. Aside from Caesar 4, I don't see a whole lot of boards that would survive their own website (even a sub-domain).

I think you are right for the most part.  However I think that with proper management not only Caesar IV but also City Life, The Guild (well maybe not the guild after it's current release situation), ummmm..... Anno and Children of the Nile could probably stand on their own since they are still recent enough releases or soon to be released or popular enough still to do it.

However I think that you are probably right in that I might just need to have some trustworthy people that we've had since CivCity: Rome forums to moderate some of the boards in here.

Would you like to moderate the Children of the Nile boards?  I'll have to check into how I can set things up so that you can do what you feel needs to be done but that would still allow me to undo anything that may go awry for one reason or another (don't take this personally, I just need a way of keeping ultimate control of things, because thats the freak that I am I guess....You know major things, like if a mod went wild one day and tried to delete every message then I'd still be able to recover them, things like that sort of ultimate control).

Anyway, things are resonably slow right now, would you care to take over the duties of modding the Children of the Nile forum area?

And as far as what I had in mind originally, it was to try to do what heavengames has done except to specialize in city building games instead of a mishmosh of games that have been popular over the years.

I totally understand and As I have built many forum boards myself, I know it can be done in such a way as to leave you in total control. Basically most forums have a moderator command that gives the moderators only control of the part of the board they moderate while leaving total control to the forum owner. This way if things go very wrong, not only can the owner fix them, but also oust the moderator from their job at the click of a button.

And once you are easy in your mind about it I would be glad to moderate CotN which is pretty much the only board I have any knowledge of anyway.

You must be over the age of 18 years old.  There are NO exceptions to this rule

I don't have time to dediacte to building another site, along with my own site and school... but im cusious as to the age restriction.  Im 17, and I think im quite experienced when it comes to html, php, css (webbuilding).  So why discriminate? anyway rant over...

My website if you want to see Smiley Blink -- still working on it, but Iv got no time!

:Since I havent really visited this forum, I atleast want to say that it looks good CB!

Well, it's about time that you meandered in here crowebird!

The age restriction has nothing to do with a person experience but rather the ability to hold the person accountable for their actions.  If someone pulls one over on me and distributes malicious files and or something else illegal (like pornography), I have no recourse against a minor, but have plenty of recourse against an adult.

Obviously there are a great deal of very talented individuals in both programming, and web design that are under the age of 18, but as I say, I have no way of holding a minor accountable for anything that they might do that would be illegal in my state and country so it's best to limit it to people that are of legal adult age to avoid any problems.

Thank you, I certainly hope that I never have to deal with that again.  I say again because I have dealt with it in the past and thankfully everything turned ok for me in the end, but it was a hassle getting it all worked out.

I can identify with this. As a dedicated server owner and web site hosting company I am forever having to make sure none of my customers is uploading anything illegal into the server. If you think it's bad running a website, try policing a few hundred of them!
