The game speed is "normal" I find it goes too fast for what I want to do after the sim has finished his/her job for the day. It gives me an error installing patch 1. 2 and then quits. by City Builder on February 25, 2010, 07:01:48 PMI know, it's pretty unconcievable that they would name an addon after a culture and not offer up Venetian Islands to build on, but it seems that is the case.
There is one Venetian island in the game, and it's owned by one of the island masters (like Sir Richard or the guy from the southern islands) but thus far in Continuous mode there is no venetian buildings or islands that venice canals can be built on.
I am disappointed to be honest. For some reason I... 352 Views | 6 Replies

by City Builder on February 24, 2010, 06:15:06 PMI love the way this shows the houses on the canals.
EDIT: Unfortunately, we've since found out that this view of Venice is only capable of being built by the AI on one island on each map, it is of the Venetian AI and we don't have the capabilities of building our own "Venice" in the game "Venice" strangely enough 256 Views | 4 Replies

Anno 1404 universe expands, and now features an online multiplayer mode
LONDON, UK – November 24th, 2009 –
Today Ubisoft announced Anno 1404 Venice, the add-on for Anno 1404, the
acclaimed real-time strategy and simulation game released earlier this
year. Anno 1404 Venice will combine the signature gameplay mechanics of
Anno 1404 and the richness of the Venetian culture. In addition, gamers

online multiplayer mode. The add-on is due to release next February
2010 in EMEA territories.
“With Anno 1404 Venice we are proud to
bring a whole new dimension to gamers by letting them experience new
multiplayer challenges online with their friends” said John Parkes,
marketing director EMEA at Ubisoft, “we're confident that this add-on
will please fans of the series as well as newcomers to the franchise.”
Key Features of ANNO 1404 Venice :
• The rich Anno 1404 environment gets complemented with a new Venetian setting offering new possibilities of interaction: o Build two new Venetian ship types: the small and big tradesman cog o Develop secret cabinets, infiltrate your enemies and sabotage their expansion o Take control over enemy cities thanks to your influence in the cities’ council board
• Play Anno 1404 online in a multiplayer mode: o Choose to play versus or coop to defeat the AI by combining your techniques o Up to 8 players
• New challenges and quests: o Up to 60 new items and 300 new quests with two new types: trading race and ship boarding o Discover and exploit a new type of island, the Volcano island o New scenarios to face new challenges with new achievements, medals and crests

by Lengo on November 23, 2009, 07:04:30 AMKalypso's site posts system requirements. They're pretty hefty. The recommended specs state that a dual core processor is recommended. I don't have one of those*. Is anyone playing T3 with a single core? If so, how well does it run?
It's encouraging, though. This game, judging by it's system reqs, is multi-threaded. There are few of these that I know of. Is gaming finally going to make dual cores useful? I certainly hope so! It's about time,... 241 Views | 4 Replies

Wow, what can I say.....? If there was ever a game who's controls aren't meant to be used with a controller, Tropico 3 is it. After about 15 minutes of total and complete frustration trying to get a camera angle that I wanted to use, and trying to place building where I wanted only to have my camera angle messed up again I finally gave up and deleted the game from my 360's hard drive.

by fredreed on November 05, 2009, 06:15:39 PMI know that there has been quite a lot of talk on the forum on Tropico 3's website about coming out with expansion packs for tropico 3. I think that once they fix the major bugs in the game itself that they the developers need to come out with expansion packs or add on packs to further enhance the game. One pack or add on would be a pack with more buildings like different farming buildings, maybe more types of hotels and maybe even include a editor in which you can create your very own... 820 Views | 1 Reply

by Knoxx on October 25, 2009, 08:04:58 AMI think it is a neat feature. Be careful on visiting islands though unless you have all your unlocks done. I visited one isle and was awarded Swiss bank account achievements up to 100,000. I also hope that they put something that won't allow you to submit a score that used cheats to achieve. Right now there is one score in the campaign mode that is 18,000,000. I'm sure that was acquired using cheats. If you do submit a... 394 Views | 14 Replies

by City Builder on October 25, 2009, 04:40:38 AMI have made a discovery (surprised nobody else found it yet on here or the kalypso forums), where by when you generate one of those split islands in the random map generator (an island that is split in two by a body of water), as it turns out you can build on both halves even though you can't get a road over to the other side of the island, and there are no bridges or ferries.

by City Builder on October 23, 2009, 07:37:38 PMEach tenement holds up to 24 people, each apartment holds up to 12 people. So for every tenement you must build 2 apartment buildings to accomodate all of the tenements inhabitants. Once you've got a nicely built island, that's no longer so easy to do. I would have to guess that somebody's got a beefy computer to handle the shadows being on what appears to be a very high setting.
